So, a couple of things to update you guys.
First of all, no, we are not dead. We have just hit several setbacks.
Second of all, no, I did not rip you off. I have bought the new HDD. In fact, here’s picture proof! (Embedded after the break)

However, as I mentioned earlier, we hit some setbacks. The first one being that LyricalAura has been swamped with school work (I know how he feels) and haven’t been able to work that much on translation.
The second setback, however, was that my desktop computer’s HDD crashed. Which means that the latest files are lost. However, we will not let these things hinder us from finishing the show. My computer is up and running again, so now I’m ready for work.

I’ve been archiving GG’s releases, since they began to clean up their subs a bit, but if you guys prove to be better, I’ll archive this release instead. ^_^
My only complaint with your work thus far was the lag in that one episode with the Epitaph. If you could somehow find a way around that, it would be amazing.

Nice, you are not dead! It is really great that you didnt dropped the project. I only watched some part of the Umineko Anime on youtube and planned to archive the bluray release. I think your translation is better than GG’s one.
Oh, and recently, GG just dropped Umineko in Bluray, so you’re the only ones I can count for that.

Yoyoenix91, can you exactly tell which episode it was and what exactly was the problem with subbing, probably I can help with the subbing part. I’m also a bit disappointed about the gg releases and mainly because they stopped blu-ray releases.
I hope blu-ray releases come soon. Thanks to the whole Seacats staff for their sincere effort towards one of the best animes.

Even though four months have passed after you made this post, I still sincerely hope you haven’t dropped Umineko. Seacats is BY FAR the best group to have subbed it. Like, don’t even get me started. I’m not just saying that ’cause I think your karaoke is pretty or whatever. Hatsuyuki’s translation is laughable at times, and from experience with other anime, gg’s is mediocre at best.
And your subs aren’t just “better.” They’re GOOD. They’re the quality that professional subtitles should be. You guys use just the right amount of artistic license. It feels natural to an English-speaker but doesn’t cross the line into LOL, we did this cuz it’s way better!!11!1! *cough*Atlus*cough* And the encoding is very nicely done. I’ve been incredibly impressed with your work.
